Is your Instagram feed showing expired images or videos in your app despite repeated syncing? This article will guide you step-by-step on how to reconnect your Instagram Professional account and re-sync your Media Source to resolve this issue effectively. 🔨
1. What Causes Expired Items in Media Source?
2. Step-by-Step Guide to Fix Expired Media
Reconnect Your Instagram Account
Re-sync the Media Source
When your Instagram Business account is connected to the app, your media is pulled using the Facebook Graph API. This process depends on a valid access token and the correct permissions.
If:
You revoke app permissions,
Disconnect your Instagram account,
Or modify settings incorrectly,
…the app can no longer fetch your media, resulting in gray images, null data, or expired items on your storefront.

Additionally, hitting the "Start Sync" button without reconnecting your account won’t help—the expired media remains.

Go to the Account tab in your app settings.
Click on "Add account".
Select "Instagram with Facebook page".
Follow the prompts to reconnect your Instagram account.
Be sure to keep previously connected accounts selected.
Always click "Next" without unchecking other active business accounts.
⚠️ Unchecking existing accounts can expire them and impact your media source.

Navigate to the Media Source tab.
Click on your current Media Source.
Click "Start sync".
Wait for the process to complete.
Click "Save" to finalize the update.

By following these two simple methods— reconnecting your Instagram account and re-syncing your media source—you can quickly resolve expired media issues and restore your Instagram feed on your storefront. Keeping your connection active ensures your visual content remains fresh and engaging.
