Setting Up Your Store Languages

Our application automatically utilizes your Shopify store’s default language as the primary language for the widget. Additional published languages act as supplementary options for your customers. Follow the steps below to check and adjust your store’s language settings.

Default Language
Access your Shopify Admin page.
Navigate to Settings > languages.
The Default language section displays your storefront’s main language.
To change the default language, click on dropdown and choose another language.

Translated Languages
In the same languages section, locate Translated languages.
Click Add language to include supplementary languages for your storefront.

For users who installed the app before September 29, 2021, it is necessary to update access permissions to allow our app to retrieve the required information from Shopify. This permission request will automatically appear when accessing the app.

Static Content Translation

Static content translation ensures that any constant elements on your Instagram feed appear in the selected language. These elements include pre-defined text and labels that do not change dynamically.

Steps to Translate Static Content:

Navigate to the Widget tab.

1

Expand the Language setting dropdown.

2

Select your preferred language from the available options.

Supported Pre-Translated Languages:
- Vietnamese (VI)
- French (FR)
- German (DE)
- Spanish (Spain)
- Italian (IT)
- Japanese (JA)
- Chinese (Simplified) (Z-CN)
- Chinese (Traditional) (ZH-TW)

Note: If a language outside of this list is selected, the content will automatically display in English. Additionally, users can manually edit the pre-translated content to better suit their needs.

Dynamic Content Translation

Unlike static content, dynamic content translation applies to elements that change frequently, such as headings, descriptions, buttons (e.g., "Show More" and "Follow").

Steps to Translate Dynamic Content:

Navigate to the Widget tab.
Expand the Language country code dropdown at the Customize Widget step.

3

Select your preferred language.

This translation feature is available for all types of widgets. However, for the Creative Feed Widget, pre-translated content is not available for in-template text. Only elements like titles, descriptions, and button text can be translated.

4

View your widget language

Please be aware that to view the translated language for your widget on the storefront, you must select the appropriate store language option for it on the website. If you don't, it will default back to the language setting, which is English.

Ensuring seamless communication with a global audience is essential for brand growth. By leveraging our Language Translation feature, you can enhance customer engagement and expand your Instagram reach effortlessly. Follow the steps outlined in this guide to optimize your multilingual storefront and provide a more personalized experience for your users.
