How to connect your Instagram Business account and Instagram Personal account to our app?

We are moving to Shopify's embedded app for your best experience. To manage the app, please go to your Shopify Admin → Apps → Search Instagram Feed, Story & TikTok → Tap Pin to your navigation to make it tick with this homepage, and you don't need to search every time accessing it. A. Instagram Personal account

Instagram Personal account is a basic account that everyone has when they first sign up to Instagram. User can sell product on Personal Account but they cannot run ads or join Instagram Shop.

B. Instagram Business account

Instagram Business account is a higher level account which gives you access to a variety of tools and functionality. The most significant difference is you can set up an Instagram Shop and sell directly from your Instagram posts.

If you do not remember which type of account you have, it is actually very simple to check. These are the steps you need to take:

Go to your profile, then tap the Menu icon in the top right corner of the app (it’s the three horizontal lines)

Next, tap on Settings, which is at the bottom of the menu

At the bottom of the Settings screen, there will be options to Switch to a certain type of account

You will see different options depending on your existing account type. For example, if you have a Personal account, the options shown will be Switch to Professional Account. Opposingly, if you have a Business account, then the options shown will be Switch to Personal Account and Switch to Creator Account.






In order to prevent you from complicated process, the Instagram account will be instantly connected as Personal type when you first log into the app. Then, your widget will also be auto-created.

If you want to connect both of these types, no worry, our app has no limit on connected accounts.

A. Instagram Personal account

Choose Account tab → Choose Add account → Choose Personal account

Choose Allow to grant the app permissions of sharing your information.




If you want to remove an account, hover on it and click the Bin icon on the top right.

B. Instagram Business account

After choosing Business account, you will need to choose the Instagram Business account that is linked to your Facebook account




Then, choose the Facebook page that you want to link with your Instagram Business account




The app will ask for permissions to sync media from your account to the app. You need to allow all permissions for the app to function properly. Click Done.




Click OK to finish




Similar to the Personal account, your Business account also shows up in the Account tab



There is no limit to the number of Business Instagram accounts that can be linked to the app, as long as each Business Instagram account should link to a single Facebook page.


To simplify the procedure of switching your Personal Instagram type to Business, you can follow the below steps without removing anything on your Socialwidget page.

Choose Account tab → Hover on Personal Instagram account → Choose Switch to Business

Choose Confirm at Confirm Account Switch

Login Facebook account that manages your Facebook page → Tap Continue as [your Facebook name]






After switching, your account type and media source will swap from Personal to Business type.

These steps are applied only for changing from Personal to Business account type.
Your pinned images, tagged products and hidden posts won't be affected when completing this procedure.


Socialwidget will allow users to manually upload or change profile image for all account types (Personal Instagram, Business Instagram and Tiktok accounts).

A. Instagram Personal account

Since the app cannot auto- crawl your profile images on Personal account, you will need to manually upload it.

Choose Account tab

Hover on the Personal account

Choose Upload avatar



Drag slider bar to reposition your avatar:


You can also Change or Remove your current profile image when hovering on the account:


B. Instagram Business account

Different from Personal account, your avatar will be auto- uploaded when connecting as Business type. In order to change or remove it, please:

Choose Account tab

Hover on the Business account

Choose Change avatar or Remove avatar



When you change your avatar and then remove it, Socialwidget will display your current one on the actual Instagram page.
