How to use the Add rule and Extract rule

In this article, we would like to share with you some situations that the merchants usually have and how to use the add rule and extract rule feature to handle them.


Add rule to choose the image that you want
Add rule to set up the Custom field
Add rule to set up the Gender field
Add rule to set up the GTIN field
Extract rule for the Size / Color field
Add rule to set up the Brand field

1. Add rule to choose the image that you want



Sometimes, you want to choose a specific image for a product, let us show you how.

Please go to Field Mapping > Image link filed > click 1 rule > Add Rule> Set up as following
- Set Value to: the image URL that you want
- Where: Some Products
- If Product Title Equal to: please enter correctly the product name that you want





2. Add rule to set up the Custom field



If you want to create some sets on your Facebook Catalog based on a custom field, let me show you how.

Step 1: You need to create Tag of the product
For example:
At the product detail page, you enter the Tag is T-Shirt
And at the other, you enter the Tag is Dress





Step 2: At Field Mapping, you add conditional Custom Label
For example:
If Keywords Contains T-Shirt → Set Value rule To T-Shirt
If Keywords Contains Dress → Set Value rule To Dress





Step 3: At Set of Catalog, you filtering Custom Label contains T-Shirt or Dress





3. Add rule to set up the Gender field



In case you have some products for male, some products for female, and some products for both, you can refer to the instruction below:

Please go to Field Mapping > Gender filed > click Add Rule > Set up as following



For male
- Set Value to: male
- Where: Some Products
- If Keywords Contains male and Keywords Does not contain female



For female
- Set Value to: female
- Where: Some Products
- If Keywords Contains female



For both
- Set Value to: unisex
- Where: Some Products
- If Keywords Contains unisex



4. Add rule to set up the GTIN field



If you have some products with a GTIN from the manufacturer, but others don't, no worries, you can set up as below.

Please go to Feed Center > click into your feed> Field Mapping > Identifier Exists field > enter the value: no> then Add rule

- Set Value to: yes
- Where: Some Products
- If Barcode Is not empty (if you enter the GTIN into Barcode on your website)





Then, please go to Field Mapping > GTIN field > no assign any value > then Add rule

- Set Value to: Barcode
- Where: Some Products
- If Barcode Is not empty (if you enter the GTIN into Barcode on your website)





5. Extract rule for the Size / Color field



The FeedHub app only recognizes the color/size value of the product when you enter the correct color/size title as Color / Size. So, if your product has a different title, no worries, you can use the Extract rule to set up it.

For example: the title is Màu sắc



Please go to Field Mapping > Color field > Add rule > select Extract > Set up as following
- Source: Variant title
- Keyword: enter all the color of the product
- Choose Whole words only
- Destination field: Color





The app will check the variant title and it will automatically declare that color for the variant. You can also do the same with the Size field.

6. Add rule to set up the Brand field



In case some products have not the brand (vendor), you can go to the Field Mapping > Brand field > Add rule to add brand in bulk

- Set Value to: enter the brand that you want
- Where: Some Products
- If Vendor Is empty
