How to fix common errors in Facebook Catalog (Products have Pending status for too long)

If your products remain in a "Pending" status for an extended period, they will not be submitted to your Facebook Catalog. This can affect your advertising efforts and product visibility. There are several possible reasons why products may remain pending for more than a day. This guide will walk you through the most common issues and how to resolve them.

Changed Facebook Password
App Permissions Removed
Deleted Data Source
Insufficient Facebook Catalog Permissions

1. Changed Facebook Password

When you change your Facebook password, the access token associated with your feed becomes invalid. This prevents the app from updating your product catalog.

Solution:

- Go to Feed Center in the application.
- Locate the feed displaying an error.
- Click on Reconnect to generate a new token.

This action will restore the connection between your feed and Facebook Catalog, ensuring your products are submitted properly.

2. App Permissions Removed

If the required permissions for the application were removed from your Facebook account, the app will no longer be able to manage your product catalog.

Solution:

- Open Feed Center in the app.
- Click on Reconnect and grant the necessary permissions.

This process will allow the app to regain access and resume submitting products to your catalog.

3. Deleted Data Source

If the data source has been removed from the Facebook Catalog, either intentionally or accidentally, your products cannot be uploaded.

Solution:

- Go to Feed Center and look for any error messages related to missing data sources.
- Click Create new data source within the app.
- The app will automatically generate a new data source and submit it to your Facebook Catalog.

4. Insufficient Facebook Catalog Permissions

If your Facebook account does not have the required permissions to manage the catalog, you will not be able to control or submit products.

Solution:

- Navigate to Meta Business Settings.
- Go to Data Sources > Catalogues > People.
- Ensure your account has full control to Manage Catalog.

If you do not have full control, contact the administrator of the business account to request the necessary permissions.

If your products remain in a "Pending" status for too long, checking the above factors can help you quickly identify and resolve the issue. Ensuring valid access tokens, proper app permissions, an active data source, and full catalog control will keep your Facebook product catalog running smoothly. Follow the steps outlined above, and your products should be submitted without further issues.
