The Instagram Stories Widget helps boost social proof, increase conversions, and keep your visitors engaged with visually captivating story-style displays.

Create a Stories Widget
The Instagram Stories Widget is a Socialwidget feature that lets you pull Instagram story content from your Business Instagram Account and display it on your Shopify storefront. It brings your content to life in an eye-catching, swipeable format similar to native Instagram Stories.
📌 Note: This feature only works with Business Instagram accounts.
Boost Engagement: Stories are short, impactful, and visually appealing – great for keeping your audience hooked.
Drive Conversions: Highlight products in a format users are familiar with.
Customizable Display: Tailor the layout, transition times, and content for a cohesive brand experience.
Organized Collections: Use story groups to organize content and highlight themes or promotions.
Go to the Media Source tab in your Socialwidget dashboard.
Click "Add new Source".
Select "Instagram Stories" as the source type.
🔍 Make sure you’re connecting a Business Instagram account. Personal accounts are not supported.
Navigate to the "Gallery" tab and click "Add new Gallery".
Select "Instagram Stories" as the gallery type.
Enter a Gallery Name, select the media source, and click OK.
💡 Tip: Galleries help you manage story content and prepare it for use in widgets.
If you want to showcase collections of related stories (like Highlights), use Stories Group.
In the gallery, click “Add Group”.
Enter a group name.
Drag and drop stories into the group.
Reorder stories by dragging them left or right within the list.
⚠️ Note:
The thumbnail is taken from the first story in the group.
You can create up to 10 Stories Groups.
Go to the Widget tab and click “Add new Widget”.
Choose “Instagram Stories”.
Customize your widget using the available editing tools.
🚀 You can display up to 100 Instagram stories on your website.
Edit design elements (layout, colors, transitions)
Set transition time for each story (3 to 10 seconds)
Tag products/variants to promote key items ( learn how to tag products)
