How to assign Category for your items on the feed

Targeting and optimizing your product categories to match customer search terms is crucial for maximizing conversions, especially on Google Shopping Ads. Our latest feature allows you to assign a Product Category to a specific product group, improving ad targeting and product discoverability.

We support two different categories based on feed type:
Google Product Category for Google feeds
Facebook Product Category for Facebook feeds

This guide will walk you through the process of assigning product categories in our system.

How to Assign a Product Category to a Specific Product Group

In addition to mapping collections, you can set up conditional rules to assign different categories based on product attributes.

Example:
If a collection contains both men’s and women’s T-shirts, you can set separate categories:

- If product title contains "Men T-shirt" → Assign to Clothing & Accessories > Clothing > Men's Clothing > T-Shirts
- If product title contains "Women T-shirt" → Assign to Clothing & Accessories > Clothing > Women's Clothing > Tops & T-Shirts

Steps:

Click +Condition(s) to add a new condition
Define your rule (e.g., based on keywords in product titles)
Save your settings

Conditional Mapping

Note: If a product already has an assigned category, it will not be overridden by the product group rule.

How to Assign a Product Category to All Products

If all your products belong to the same category, use All Products Mapping to assign a single category to all items.

All Products Mapping

In the case of multiple overlapping conditions. The system will prioritize from top to bottom (Specific collection -> Conditional rule -> All products)
