Instagram API tokens can expire randomly, especially for Personal Instagram accounts. This can prevent your widget from displaying Instagram content properly.



Why Does This Happen?



Token expiration can occur due to:
- Using a Personal Instagram account instead of a Professional account.
- Changing your Facebook or Instagram password.
- Disruptions in the connection between Instagram and the Socialwidget app.

To minimize the risk of token expiration, we highly recommend switching to a Professional Instagram account linked to a Facebook Page. This setup provides better stability and reduces the likelihood of token issues.

How to Switch and Reconnect Your Account



Follow these steps to switch and properly reconnect your Instagram account to Socialwidget:

Check your Instagram account type
- Open Instagram and go to Settings → Account.
- If your account is set to Personal, switch to a Professional (Business) account.



Connect Instagram to a Facebook Page
- Open Facebook and navigate to Page Settings.
- Under Linked Accounts, connect your Instagram account to a Facebook Page.

Reconnect your account in Socialwidget
- Open the Socialwidget app.
- Navigate to Account → Add Account.
- Select Instagram with Facebook Page and click Connect.
- Follow the prompts to complete the connection process.



Once the connection is complete, your Instagram widget should function properly without further token issues.
