The [shipping] attribute in Google Merchant Center is designed to help merchants provide detailed shipping information on a product level. This attribute becomes essential when account-level shipping settings don’t apply or need to be overridden for specific items. By using this feature, merchants can offer flexible shipping rates and methods that better reflect their logistics strategy.

When to Use?


Use the [shipping] attribute in the following scenarios:


  • You do not have shipping settings configured at the account level in Google Merchant Center.
  • You want to override default shipping settings for specific products.
  • You offer multiple shipping services and want to define them individually.


The [shipping] attribute is made up of four sub-attributes:

The ISO 3166-1 code for the destination country (e.g., US, VN)

Region [region]

Optional

Subdivision codes (e.g., NY, NSW) for specific delivery areas. Supported in select countries.

Service [service]

Conditionally Required

Required if you're offering multiple shipping services for a location (e.g., "Standard", "Express")

Price [price]

Optional (unless overriding shipping speed)

The fixed shipping cost (e.g., 15.99 USD). Use . as decimal separator.

How to Use?


Here’s a step-by-step guide to setting up the [shipping] attribute in our app:


Step 1: Access Field Mapping


Navigate to the app dashboard and go to:

Step 2: Locate the [F] Shipping Information Field


Scroll down or search for [F] Shipping Information in the field list.

Step 3: Input the Shipping Information


In the input box, format your shipping value using the following structure, separated by colons [:]


country:region:service:price


Format: [shipping(country:region:service:price)]

You can omit optional fields if not applicable (e.g., country::standard:10.00 USD)


Example Input: VN:SEA:express:15.99 USD


This sets:


  • Country = VN (Vietnam)
  • Region = SEA (Southeast Asia)
  • Service = Express
  • Price = 15.99 USD

Step 4: Save and Submit


After entering the data, click Save and Submit. The shipping details will then appear in your feed preview like this:
