How to fix common image errors in Google Merchant Center (Missing value [image link])

When you create a Google product feed, it is highly likely that you will face some kind of errors or warnings from Google. Don't worry, our team is here to guide you to fix them.

The difference between Errors and Warnings in Google Merchant Center

Errors: Errors indicate critical feed issues. These issues can lead to item disapproval, and prevent you from showing ads for the affected products. In some cases, errors might even result in account suspension.

Warnings: Warnings are far less serious than errors as they do not lead to item disapproval. However, they still negatively impact the performance of your product listing ads. If you leave them untouched for a long time, your products might be disapproved.

Missing value [image link]

Even though your product has a main image, it still encounters this error. This is because your variants do not have an image yet. There are two ways to fix this:

Add image for each variant on Shopify. Our app will automatically sync the new images and submit them to Google Merchant Center. This solution is recommended when your variants are distinctively different (e.g. different color, fabric, or material).

Set all variants to have the same image with our Mapping function. Specifically, FeedHub will apply the main product imaget to all variants. Simply go to Feed Center > Click on the feed > Field Mapping > Search for Image Link > Delete the Variant Image Url and replace it with Product Image Url > Save Settings

If your variants are distinctively different (e.g. different color, fabric, or material) and you want them to have different image, the first solution is recommended. If you do not place too much importance on your variant image, you can choose solution two.
