How to fix common image errors in Google Merchant Center (Invalid image)

When you create a Google product feed, it is highly likely that you will face some kind of errors or warnings from Google. Don't worry, our team is here to guide you to fix them.

The difference between Errors and Warnings in Google Merchant Center

Errors: Errors indicate critical feed issues. These issues can lead to item disapproval, and prevent you from showing ads for the affected products. In some cases, errors might even result in account suspension.

Warnings: Warnings are far less serious than errors as they do not lead to item disapproval. However, they still negatively impact the performance of your product listing ads. If you leave them untouched for a long time, your products might be disapproved.

Invalid image

You may receive this error if:
The image URL leads to a web page instead of an image
The image cannot be found on the server (404 Error)
The image is not in an accepted format.

To resolve this error, ensure that all images are accessible and use an accepted image format (JPEG, non-animated GIF, PNG, TIFF, BMP)

Moreover, you should:
Provide images that uniquely, clearly and exclusively identify each variant of the product.
Make sure that the disapproved items is pointing to the correct URL.
