How to enable Conversion API for Facebook pixel and Using Test Event Code

1. What is The Facebook Conversion API?
The Conversions API is designed to create a direct connection between your marketing data and the systems which help optimize ad targeting, decrease cost per action and measure results across Meta (Facebook) technologies. Please refer to this article for more information.

By integrating Conversion API, you’ll benefit from:

- Optimized ad targeting using more reliable conversion data.
- Reduced cost per action (CPA) and better campaign performance.
- More control over what data is shared with Facebook.
3. Step-By-Step Guide
Enable Conversion API
You need to have a Facebook access token to turn on the Conversion API. Let me show you how to find it.
- Please access the URL: __https://business.facebook.com/events_manager2/list/pixel/[PixelID]__
You will be redirected to the page as follows:
- Please click the Settings tab and scroll down to find the Conversions API. At the Set up manually on Conversions API, please click Generate access token
You can press Ctrl + F to search Generate access token, it will help you find it quickly

- After that, please copy this token

- After having it, please go back our app > Edit > enable Conversion API > enter the Facebook access token > Save to complete the process.

Use Test Event Code to Verify Tracking
- After enabling Conversion API and successfully creating a Facebook Pixel, a popup will appear prompting you to test events.
- Click Go to Test events to start testing immediately
- Or, you can test later by clicking Edit on the pixel you want to test and opening the event testing section

- On the Edit facebook pixel screen, please click on Start testing event to begin

- Upon clicking, you will see a step-by-step modal to walk you through the testing process

Step 1: Get test code
- Open Meta Events Manager at: __https://business.facebook.com/events_manager2/list/pixel/[PixelID]__/test_events
- In the Test Events tab, copy the Test Event Code

- Return to our app and paste the code into the Test code field
- Click Next to continue
Step 2: Trigger events

- Click your website URL to open your storefront
- Perform any actions that trigger your events (for example: searching, viewing a product, adding to cart)
- Once done, return to the testing modal and click Next.
Step 3: Verify in Meta

- Go back to the Test Events tab in Meta Events Manager
- Check whether the events you triggered appear in the event list

Our app tracks 6 events through Conversion API: Search, View content, Add to cart, AddPaymentInfo, Initiate checkout & Purchas events.
You will see the events are tracked with the connection method is Server, it is Conversion API.
Once you’ve confirmed that events are tracking correctly:
- Select the confirmation checkbox
- Click Next to proceed
Step 4: Testing completed

🎉 Congratulations! You’ve successfully completed event testing.
Click Done testing to finish the process. Your Conversion API setup is now verified and ready for use.
Important Notes
- ⚠️ Remove the Test Event Code after testing by clicking Done testing. Otherwise, real user activity will not appear correctly in your Pixel’s Overview.
- ✅ Feature Availability: The Conversion API integration is available on Standard, Professional, and Advanced plans only.
