1. What is Facebook Pixel and Why Use It?

Facebook Pixel is a piece of code that tracks visitor actions on your website and sends that data to Facebook Event Manager. This allows you to:

  • Optimize ad targeting
  • Measure campaign effectiveness
  • Retarget visitors with personalized ads

Events Tracked by Facebook Pixel (automatically enabled in OnePixel):

  • Page view
  • View content
  • Add to cart
  • Initiate checkout
  • Purchase
  • Search
  • View category
  • View cart
  • Add payment info (via Conversion API only)

For the AddpaymentInfo event, it is only available for the Conversion API. Please refer to this article to enable Conversion API for Facebook pixel

2. Prerequisites Before Setup

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • A Facebook account connected to Facebook Business Manager
  • A Shopify store with Owner account permissions

3. Method 1: Auto Input Pixel ( Recommend)

This method allows the system to automatically insert and manage your Facebook Pixel. Ideal for users who want a quick and error-free setup.

Steps

  1. Login to the correct Facebook account that manages the Pixel(s) you want to connect.
  2. Hover over the Facebook platform in the OnePixel app, then click Auto input pixel.

  3. In the Facebook modal, choose your Facebook account.

  • You can change this later under Settings.
  1. Select your Business Manager account from the connected Facebook account.

  • ⚠️ If you don't have a Business Manager account, you won't be able to use all app features.

  1. Choose the Pixel you want to set as your Main Pixel.

  • This Pixel will be installed on all pages of your Shopify store.
  1. Click Finish to complete setup.

✅ The app will automatically insert your Pixel across the entire website by default.

4.Method 2 : Manual Input Pixel

Use this method if you prefer manual setup or don’t want to link your Facebook account directly.
Note: This method does not support syncing event data with the Analytics tab in OnePixel.

Steps

  1. Go to the Facebook platform section in OnePixel.
  2. Fill in the required fields:

  • Pixel name
  • Facebook Pixel ID
  • Target (choose one):
  • Entire page: Insert Pixel into all pages.

  • Collection: Pixel tracks only products in selected collections.

  • Tag: Pixel tracks products with a specific tag.

  1. Click Save to complete the process.

✅ Your Pixel is now live and tracking events on your selected pages.

5. Verifying Your Pixel Installation

To check if your Pixel is installed correctly:

  • Use the Facebook Pixel Helper Chrome extension.
Download it from the Chrome Web Store

6. Viewing Event Data in Analytics (Auto Input Only)

If you used the Auto input method, OnePixel will pull event data from your Facebook Event Manager and display it in the Analytics tab.

⚠️ Event data may have a 24-hour delay due to Facebook's processing time.

Final Notes & Tips

For full functionality, we highly recommend using the Auto input method.

If you're running Conversion API events (like AddPaymentInfo), make sure to follow this guide to enable it properly.

🚀 You're All Set!
With your Facebook Pixel now connected to OnePixel, you can start tracking valuable customer actions and improve your ad performance effortlessly. Whether you're running remarketing ads or analyzing purchase funnels, this integration gives you powerful insights to grow your store smarter.
