# How to downgrade the current plan in Socialwidget

When it comes to managing your subscription plans with Socialwidget, sometimes upgrading to a higher plan might be necessary, but there are times when downgrading to a more suitable plan is the right choice. Downgrading your current plan helps you optimize costs and adjust your account settings to fit the new plan's requirements. However, before downgrading, it’s crucial to ensure that any advanced features not supported by the new plan are either disabled or removed. This step-by-step guide will walk you through how to downgrade your plan, ensuring a smooth transition without losing any essential features.

# Step 1. Check Your Current Pricing Plan

Before you proceed with the downgrade, it’s essential to check your current plan and understand its features. To do this:

1. Choose the **Downgrade** option to your preferred plan from the available options.
2. A **popup notification** will appear, displaying the differences between your current and preferred plan.

|| Depending on your existing advanced features, this notification will highlight which features are being removed or adjusted as part of the downgrade.

**Example:**

If you’re downgrading to the Starter plan, features like Tiktok Feed, Hashtag Feed, Instagram Stories, and Custom Profile sources may need to be removed.

# Step 2. Reducing the Quotas to Fit the Downgraded Plan

The next step is to ensure that your account’s usage is aligned with the limits of your new plan. This involves reducing certain quotas that may exceed the limits of the downgraded plan.

1. **Media Source**

Your media sources should comply with the downgraded plan’s limits. If the number of media sources exceeds your new plan’s limit, you will need to remove some. Here's some of the media sources you should check in your account:

- Total media sources
- Hashtag media source
- Tiktok media source
- Stories media source
- Custom profile media source

**For example:** if you're downgrading to the Starter plan, you may need to remove sources like Tiktok Feed, Hashtag Feed, Instagram Stories, or Custom Profile sources.
