# How to customize events for Facebook pixel

# 1. Tracking different events by product\_id or variant\_id

Our new update lets you decide how events are tracked—either by `product_id` or `variant_id`. This means more accurate data for what matters most to your business.

### Steps

1. **Login** to your OnePixel dashboard.
2. **Go to** the Facebook Pixel integration section.
3. **Choose** between automatic or manual pixel connection.
4. **Select** the events you want to track.
5. **Toggle** between `product_id` and `variant_id` for each event depending on your tracking needs.

# 2. Supported Events and Default Settings.
|| Purchase event can only be tracked via conversion API.

Here's how events are set up by default in OnePixel:

* **ViewContent** – ON – `product_id`
* **AddToCart** – ON – `variant_id`
* **ViewCart** – ON – `variant_id`
* **InitiateCheckout** – ON – `variant_id`
* **AddPaymentInfo** – ON – `variant_id`
* **Purchase** – ON – `variant_id`
* **Search** – ON – `variant_id`
* **ViewCategory** – ON – `variant_id`

### Notes:

||| **AddPaymentInfo** event is tracked **only** via the **Conversion API**, not through the browser.
||| If an event is turned off, it won't be tracked by either the server or browser.
