# Create a new Widget

Widgets are powerful tools that allow you to showcase your gallery content directly on your website. In Socialwidget, each widget is connected to only one Gallery, making it easy to manage and display curated visuals effectively.

This guide will walk you through the process of creating a widget—either from an existing Gallery or from scratch—and how to enable it on your Shopify website.

# Creating a Widget

There are two ways to create a new widget in Socialwidget:

##### Option 1: From Your Gallery

You can create a widget directly from an existing gallery, allowing you to quickly publish visuals that you've already curated.

Alternatively, you can start from scratch to create a fully customized widget.

# Installing and Customizing Your Widget

1. Click **Create widget**.
2. Enter your **Widget name**.
3. Choose the **Gallery source** and select a **Widget template**.

4. Customize the widget settings based on your brand style and layout preferences.
5. Click **Install widget** to proceed.

# Enabling the Widget on Your Website

After creating and customizing your widget, you’ll need to enable it on your Shopify store.

##### Step 1: Toggle on Socialwidget App Embed

1. Go to your **Shopify Admin**.
2. Click **Online Store** > **Themes** > **Customize**.
3. In the left-hand panel, click **App Embeds**.
4. Toggle the **Socialwidget** switch to the ON position.

##### Step 2: Install the Widget in Theme Sections

1. In the Theme editor, go to **Sections**.
2. Click **Add Section**.
3. Select **App**, then find **Socialwidget** in the list.

4. Add your widget to the desired location on the page.
